Alstroemeria ‘Indian Summer’ is a stunning variety which boasts a moderate height and eye-catching features, with bronzed-green foliage that complements its showy orange and yellow flowers. The flowers are arranged in large, dense clusters and each trumpet-shaped bloom displays a rich orange-red color on the underside of its petals. The outer petals are plump and colored in warm orange, often with a dark circle at the center of the broadly notched petals, while the inner petals are slimmer and typically yellow with a suffusion of orange at their center and long chocolate flashes that delve into the heart of the flower.
To keep these plants thriving, it’s best to avoid root disturbance by leaving them undisturbed in the same location. They prefer a sheltered, sunny spot with protection from winter frost, and a deep mulch over the crown can help provide insulation. These flowers are expected to bloom from June to September, providing a long-lasting display of their vibrant colors.
The plant’s growth rate and size will vary depending on planting position & conditions. Bloom, foliage and interest may vary from photo upon delivery, dependant on season.
