Pyracantha Coccinea ‘Red Star’, also known as a fire thorn, is an upright evergreen shrub which produces a show of autumn fruits in striking red colour, which this plant it mostly grown for. During the spring, it puts on a show of clusters of white flowers, but these are often considered insignificant compared to the following fruit.
Historically, pyracantha have been grown as a defensive plant, often around windows, as the spikey thorns act as a brilliant deterrant. This variety however is considered as being slightly less thorned than others.
The plant’s growth rate and size will vary depending on planting position & conditions, and bloom, foliage and interest may vary from photo upon delivery, dependant on season.
Delivery Note: Please note that unfortunately we are currently unable to deliver plants to Northern Ireland.
